We catch up with our Studio Manager, Louise, this week.

What do you do at Art4Space and what would you say is the best thing about Art4Space?
My role is Studio Manager which offers a wide range of tasks; from mosaic to teaching to project management, as well as keeping our gorgeous studio well stocked for all things crafty.
I would say the best thing about Art4Space is our incredibly inspiring team, which happens to be all women!

How do your days usually start?
With a cup of tea and then some yoga (sometimes just a second cup of tea!).

Do you have a personal tips for keeping well during lockdown?
I have found that taking some time to light a few candles is a really amazing way to draw me into the present and give myself a lil moment of appreciation by creating a quiet, reflective space. I have rediscovered my oil burner so lavender oil is making a major comeback. It’s an instant calm for me!

Is there anything you have discovered that you would like to recommend?
So many! Books: Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall-Kimmerer and David Abram’s, The Spell of the Sensuous: Perception and Language in a More-than-Human-World have both been pretty life-changing lockdown books. As well as Emergence Magazine for podcasts on nature and spirituality.

What is your favourite home lockdown lunch?
Homegrown salads and vegetables! A particular fav has been cannellini beans, dill, avocado salad on sourdough.

Are you working on any creative projects?
Always! But currently working on a series of natural stone, classical mosaic sample boards which are such a pleasure to make.

How do you have a “break” or relax in lockdown?
A bath and then yin yoga with all my candles on!

Who would you give a shout out to and why?
Well since you asked about pets…..! During lockdown 2 we rescued a little black kitten who was lost and sleeping in our garden. So much lockdown love!!!
