The Social Action Programme -Wellbeing, Creativity, Connection, Enterprise and Employability

throughout 2020 with Art4Space.

The Social Action Programme (SAP) is a set of three dynamic, accredited courses which will use art
training to provide measurable employability and wellbeing impact to 20 citizens of London. The
three elements of this progression pathway are:
Course 1 – Creative Remedies (wellbeing) including exhibition
Course 2 – Creative Enterprise (entrepreneurial skills) with market
Course 3 – Creative Champions (employability and community arts) including gallery visit
Each course is 10 consecutive weeks and 3 hours per session.

PHASE 1:
Creative Remedies
This is the introduction to the SAP where participants learn the skills of mosaic, ceramic and textiles.
Participants create individual pieces which will be exhibited to the public. Each session is
complemented with a wellbeing programme and supported using a proven wellbeing toolkit.
All 20 participants will start this course.
3 weeks each and rotating: Sewing, Clay and Mosaic (7 participants per group)
Final week – exhibition and sharing.
Dates: Wednesdays 10 – 1pm / 12 thFebruary – 15th April 2020
After finishing Creative Remedies, participants will continue their training on our Creative
Champions and Creative Enterprise courses.

PHASE 2 and  3:
Creative Enterprise
This gateway course encourages entrepreneurial activities. Participants will learn foundational
business start-up skills and make sewing, mosaic and ceramic artworks to sell at local craft markets.
Creative Champions
This gateway course is a proven programme and aimed at improving employment opportunities
(with career planning and business support) and encouraging community teaching and leadership.
Gaining experience through working on a live community project for the local area.
Creative Enterprise and Creative Champions – 20 participants are then split into groups of 10 and
choose Wed or Friday for the completion of their training
PHASE 2:
Creative Champions
Dates: Fridays 10 – 1pm / 8th May – 10th July
Creative Enterprise
Dates: Wednesdays 10 – 1pm / 6th May – 8th July

Then swap to next course
PHASE 3:
Creative Enterprise
Dates: Fridays 10 – 1pm / 11th September – 13th November
Creative Champions
Dates: Wednesdays 10 – 1pm / 9 th September – 11th November
Followed by a group support session (date TBC Nov) to share, learn and reflect.
Taught by the directors of Art4Space and experienced team
At the stunning Art4Space studio – Stockwell SW4

Criteria for applications:
Out of work for 6 months prior to the start of the course
London resident
Target group: BAME and older women, but anyone can apply
Make sure you can do all the dates of the 3 courses in total (we expect 85% attendance to receive
accreditation)
All participants after the course will be expected to progress into further training, employment or
enterprise.
