Teacher inset

CREATIVITY AT THE HEART OF THE CURRICULUM

This inset day will be held at our Community Arts Centre in Stockwell – packed full of inspiring materials and visual aids.

The Directors have over 35 years collective experience delivering high quality creative workshops for children aged 5 – 16 years.

Art4Space has designed and delivered an accredited art course Why Art Matters (WAM) – over 500 children have completed their Arts award ‘Explore’ certificate.

Outcomes of the day: Promote the use of arts in the curriculum – the success of this inset day will show that the arts play a critical role in education and will give examples of best practice to inspire and inform teachers.

Teachers will be more confident in the use of the arts in the classroom.

Teachers will be equipped to deliver art workshops and have the knowledge of how to do this.

Teachers will understand the value of creativity in a child’s learning across all the subjects.

Teachers will be inspired to try out new creative projects.

‘Whatever artistic talents or interests, it’s important that we make the most of any opportunity that gives participants the chance to learn, develop and expand creativity’  Julie Norburn, Art4Space Director.

Testimonial from a teacher who attended a session at the Centre.

Julie showed a genuine interest in wanting to create an affordable and personalised workshop package. She maintained brilliant communication throughout the entire booking process to ensure the workshop ran smoothly.

Julie’s previous experience as a teacher meant she tailored our learning experience perfectly. We had a wonderful time exploring different drawing activities to stimulate ideas as well as how to create interesting and varied styles of 2D & 3D mosaics using a range of materials. Julie and her team were extremely welcoming and they created a comfortable environment for learning as well as offering a fab selection of refreshments!

The accessible Art4Space studio is set in beautiful surroundings, with a lovely garden filled with mosaic gems. A thorough literature pack was provided with excellent contacts and useful tips on where to source materials.

Julie was happy to share relevant information, contacts and her expertise. We would highly recommend her workshop to others who are interested in learning either for the first time or furthering your knowledge in the wonderful world of mosaics.
