As part of the Lambeth Kickstart scheme, we are looking to recruit  for 25 hours per week. You must be 16-24 years old, a Lambeth resident and registered unemployed.

Hours of Work: Part-time (25 hours per week) over 3 days TBD
Duration: 6 months
Salary: 25 hours per week pro rata.

You need to be unemployed when apply. Your job centre can refer you.
These rates are for the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage. The rates change every April:
April 2020 (current rate): 25 and over:  £8.72, 21-24: £8.20, 18-20: £6.45, Under 18: £4.55

A Lambeth Kickstarter is expected to engage with the additional opportunities developed specifically by the Lambeth Kickstart scheme and you will use the support on offer to maximise the benefits to your professional development.

You will have the opportunity to participate in a supportive environment to develop the behaviours, knowledge and professional skills required of the role and the team. You will commit to your professional development plan, set out at the beginning of your placement. You are expected to take ownership of the tasks & projects set out by your line manager and understand the importance of managing both professional and learning responsibilities.

Placement Summary:
Art4Space is seeking an enthusiastic person with an interest in arts education and knowledge of the arts for the role of Studio/Workshop Assistant. The role would suit an individual who is seeking a career in arts education/project management/ fundraising. Applicants should have a strong desire to learn and develop within a professional arts business and will be required to demonstrate knowledge of the visual arts and an aptitude for research, as well as good administrative, communication and organisation skills.

You will gain extensive experience and training. Art4Space will arrange for you to have DBS check a requirement for any persons working with children or adults.

Skills:
A Lambeth Kickstarter is expected to bring with them the following skills and a willingness to develop:

  • Good Communication Skills- Building good relationships is fundamental to the delivery
    of services.
  • Organisational Skills- The ability to manage your own workload and to work to team
    and project deadlines.
  • Teamwork and Cooperation- The ability to work flexibly in a team and contribute to a
    supportive work environment.
  • Adaptability and flexibility- Work in fluid, fast-paced & exciting environment. These
    skills are vital to responding to situations in the workplace.

    Duties:

  •  To work collaboratively with other team members.
  •  To contribute ideas and suggestions to help progress work more effectively and
    efficiently.
  • To meet all learning commitments of the Kickstart scheme as directed by your line
    manager.

Careers & Employability Support Offer:
A core careers and employability support offer will be in place for young people on the Lambeth Kickstart programme. Line Managers are however encouraged to contribute positively to this, and offer additional support activities such as coaching, mentoring, job
shadowing, or other activities as appropriate.

Interview Process:
On receipt of CV and covering letter, Art4Space will hold interviews with
the directors. There will be a shortlist who will be invited to do a half day at the Centre before
final decision is made.

Placement starts in Spring depending on lockdown restrictions. Our Community Arts Centre is based in Stockwell.
