Art4Space is seeking an enthusiastic person with an interest in arts education for the role of Project Assistant. The role would suit an individual who is seeking a career in arts education/project management/community projects. Applicants should have a strong desire to learn and develop within a professional arts organisation and will be required to demonstrate knowledge of the visual arts and an aptitude for research, as well as good administrative, communication and organisational skills. You will gain extensive experience and training. We moved into new premises in May 2014 and the role would help build the new centre and its services.

 

ATTRIBUTES ESSENTIAL
WORK EXPERIENCE AND/OR KNOWLEDGE
  • General administration
  • Interest in the arts – especially community arts and education
  • Qualification in arts based subject an advantage

 

SKILLS
  • IT skills and social media.
  • Arts skills – artistic and creative abilities (mosaic and clay an advantage)

 

DISPOSITION AND ATTITUDES
  • Attention to detail
  • Reliability and trustworthiness
  • Ability to get on with many different people
  • Affinity with the aims and purpose of Art4Space

 

PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
  • A willingness to undertake an enhanced CRB check
  • A willingness to satisfy the requirements Art4Space policies

 

 

WHEN: 6 months at 30 hours per week (flexible – some hours you could work from home too) Starts Jan 2015. Interviews – Dec 2014.

WHERE: Art4Space, Community Arts Centre, 31 Jeffreys Road, Stockwell. London. SW4 6QU (plus some outreach work).CRITERIA: This paid internship has been created as part of the Creative Employment Programme (Arts Council Fund). To be eligible to apply for this post you must be registered as unemployed with the Jobcentre Plus and aged 18 – 24yrs at the time of applying.
